The acquisition of two vintage French cabinets from and antiquity store marks the beginning of this interior project for a new 130 m2 apartment. The two custom sculptural pieces from Harmonica steel furniture line /designed by studiopiperov/ are both visual and functional counterpoint of the vintage cabinets:

Harmonica Bar and Overhang is the heart of the kitchen and a visual accent of the entry zone of the apartment – both screen and bar – its graphite silhouette reflected in the mirrored back of the tall glazed cabinet. The red Hay barstools correspond with the graphic rhythm of the oriental concrete tiles on the backsplash of the minimal white L-shaped kitchen. Harmonica Shelving Unit in the dining room is a wall-hung steel bookshelf with cantilevered shelves set above the linear vintage rosewood credenza with intricate intarsia. The set – credenza/bookshelf is mirrored by the crystal top of the custom dining table. The pale blue upholstered Hay dining chairs are reinforcing the Scandinavian theme. Their characteristic outline well visible thru the transparent dining table presents a solid visual base for the expressionist oil painting by Konstantin Kalchev / KoKal The two colorful Prostoria lounge chairs with solid wood arms in the living area are set opposite the L- shaped gray sofa – the only existing furniture piece brought by the owners to their new home. The intarsia motif has its contemporary interpretation in the wooden coffee tables by a local sculptor.
